About Us

Dr. Munguia founded California Smile Dentistry, originally named "Smile Prosthodontics," with the vision of creating a dental practice built to the highest standards of quality, skill, and integrity. He made this dream a reality, and found joy in making his patients' dream smiles a reality as their "smile architect" for 22 years. Though Dr. Munguia passed away in 2023, his office is still managed by family, and the staff continues his legacy of treating patients as respected and welcomed members of the California Smile Dentistry family.

We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”– aiming to prevent dental problems and treating root causes, rather than putting out dental "fires". Uncompromising Safety

Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

At California Smile Dentistry, we are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians who have been working in their field for many years. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continual education and learning. We attend dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care.

Our Office

Upland has always been home to California Smile Dentistry, though it moved to its current location, one of Upland's historical homes on Foothill Boulevard, in April 2020.

Originally named "Smile Prosthodontics," and later "California Smile Institute," California Smile Dentistry has had its own in-house dental laboratory since its foundation in 2001, which allows the office to provide quicker-than-average solutions to patient needs – ranging from dentures to clear aligners.

We have been honored to serve the Upland and wider Southern California community for the past 20+ years, and we look forward to continuing to give patients their dream smiles for years to come!
